Each year, ACO volunteers make wishes and dreams a reality for families in our area.
Beginning in early November the giving spirit comes alive in our community as families, friends, churches, clubs and organizations, businesses and individuals collect non-perishable foods items and gift certificates for turkeys. Food drives are held in ACO’s name around town and at local grocers.
The food is then moved by ACO volunteers to the Sorting Location, sorted and boxed. The final product is a package ready for a family to take home and prepare their own Thanksgiving dinner. This comes only after hundreds of hours of volunteer hard work.
This year’s (2007) Sorting Location And Distribution is at the First Methodist Church of Allen, located at 601 S. Greenville Avenue, between Main Street and Bethany.
