Dear Allen Community Outreach,
You have done it!
Once again our community has pulled through and
ALL of our children, teens and seniors have been adopted! We have been able, with your help, to adopt over 821 kiddos and seniors. Thank you so much for your generosity.
If you have adopted someone, please make sure you bring your gifts to the First United Methodist Church on Monday or Tuesday (12/8 & 12/9) from 9 am - 6 pm.
While everyone has been adopted, we have historically helped families after the toy distribution.
Financial, toy, and gift card donations are greatly appreciated for these families in need.
Thank you!
Dear ACO Christmas Supporter,
It is once again time for Allen Community Outreach’s Holiday Adoption Program and we need your help!
Each year, ACO asks the community to “adopt” a child, teen, or senior for Christmas. You, the Donor/Adopter, will be given the person’s clothing sizes and wish list and asked to make their holiday a little happier by purchasing new clothes and toys for them. In consideration of everyone’s budget, we are asking that the total purchase price should not exceed $100.00.
All items must be new and unwrapped. Throughout the year we provide families with vouchers to spend like cash at ACO’s Resale Shop where they receive gently-used clothing. Christmas may be the only time during the year they receive clothing that is brand-new!
Can you imagine the sadness and despair felt by many families during the holidays when they are facing layoffs, cut-off notices on their utilities, eviction notices or no food in their pantry? Shopping for Christmas gifts may be the last thing on their mind. The number of families facing financial crisis in our community is still rising. Last year more than 850 individuals were helped through Allen Community Outreach’s Christmas Adoption Program.
With your adoption of a CHILD, TEEN or SENIOR, you can make this very special time of year a lasting memory for someone who otherwise would not experience the joy of the holiday season. To ensure that your donor packet is ready to pick up, please return the enclosed form as soon as possible and no later than November 24th. You may also sign up online at www.acocares.org. After we receive your information, you will be matched with a recipient and contacted to pick up your packet. The earlier you return your donor form, the earlier you will receive your information and can begin shopping!
After shopping, please drop off all gifts in the bags provided
with the identifying sticker attached .
Please do NOT knot bags or leave unattended at church.
Drop off at :
First United Methodist Church, 601 S. Greenville Avenue on
Monday December 8, 3pm - 6pm and
Tuesday, December 9, 9 am - 6 pm.
Please help us by bringing in your donations no later than Tuesday, December 9th!
Involve your family, your civic & church groups, or your co-workers and share a sense of peace and joy this Christmas by sharing with someone who needs your help. Please contact either Marjorie or Debbie if you have questions by calling 972-727-9131 or email Marjorie@acocares.org or Debbie@acocares.org. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Marjorie Debbie
