Mark your calendar for the 2009 event

Each Spring, Collin County residents, ISD students and their families, local running enthusiasts, and representatives from businesses and organizations all come together for friendly competition and for a common cause– ACO Programs including Meals-On-Wheels & More Program and other services benefiting families in crisis in Allen, Fairview and Lucas. 

The 2008 event was held on Saturday, May 3, 2008.  The Certified Course began and ended on Main Street in downtown Allen, in front of Rodenbaugh’s Flooring and Appliances, 102 E. Main Street.

The Annual Martha Janes Memorial 1-Mile Walk was held just prior to the 5K.  Mrs. Janes was a strong supporter of Allen Community Outreach as well as a Senior who received a hot lunch delivered by an ACO volunteer each weekday.  She was a favorite of volunteers who enjoyed her lively stories and her spirit. Equipped with her walker and wheel chair, Mrs. Janes was an example for all who joined her in the walk each year.  Mrs. Janes passed away in December 2004, but her memory will live on each Spring as friends and relatives come together for a cause she so strongly believed in.
