ACO offers many different volunteer opportunities. To get the process started, please download the "ACO Volunteer Application". This application is an Adobe PDF document that you can open and print on your computer. Here are the steps:
- Download the "ACO Volunteer Application"
- Open the Adobe PDF "ACO Volunteer Application"
- Print the "ACO Volunteer Application"
- Fill out the complete application with a pen.
- Sign the completed "ACO Volunteer Application"
- Unsigned applications cannot be accepted
- Court-ordered community service volunteers must also submit court papers, drivers license, and a non-refundable fee of $10 cash to cover the cost of the background check.
- Return the completed and signed application to the main ACO office
A criminal-only background check is run on adult volunteers prior to application acceptance. We do require that you provide your social security number and drivers' license number for this purpose only. This is a requirement for all adult volunteers. This personal information is not held on file, is not kept in our computer system and is not shared with anyone. It is immediately destroyed when your background check is cleared. We treat your information with the utmost safety to protect you. Volunteers under the age of 18 need only to bring the first 2 pages of the application, with the 2nd page including a parent or guardian's signature.
