Do you want to support our Food Pantry?
We depend on our community members and businesses to help support our Food Pantry. Below you will find a list of needed food and non-food items. Individuals, groups, businesses, churches, schools and organizations can help by dropping off donations of food items and hygiene products. Also, there are different ways that one can collect donations of food and household items, including:
- holding local food drives
- organizing bake sales or lemonade stands to raise money to donate towards the Food Pantry
- on birthdays or gatherings, ask family members and friends to donate personal hygiene or food items instead of giving birthday presents
- making a donation in honor or in memory of someone you care
- volunteering their time at the Food Pantry
Information to make donations or to volunteer is available by contacting Janis Christie, Director of Volunteers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks to our partners in the pantry North Texas Food Bank, Market Street, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Target stores, Walmart stores, Kroger stores, Panera Bread, Papa Johns, Elke’s Market Cafe, Petco and other generous retailers.
Focus on Healthy Food Options
In addition to all non-perishables that are accepted at the Food Pantry, our focus this year is to keep collecting healthy food items for our local families in need. You can help us achieve our goals by choosing low-fat, fat-free, whole grain and low-sodium food items to donate. The Food Pantry is also equipped with a large walk-in freezer and refrigerator to accommodate fresh foods and meats.
The Food Pantry offers emergency and supplemental food to families living in Allen and surrounding communities. Canned food items, non-perishables, frozen meats, fresh produce and dairy are often available to families in need. We are grateful for our community supporters and the North Texas Food Bank for helping us provide enough food items to stock our Food Pantry.
