Dear Friend,

Summer has arrived! And while so many of us are excited for the kids to be out of school, to plan our vacations, enjoy cook-outs in the backyard and long days in the pools, that is not the case for all of our Collin County neighbors. While 3 of our children in this county will be happy and well-fed all summer long, 1 of every 4 children will go hungry. Those are the statistics. However, ACO is working hard to change that. Again, all summer long our Kids’ Summer Food program is providing bags of specially packed kid-friendly groceries for local children in need. You can help through your donations to support this program and all of our services to help prevent hunger and homelessness and to gain financial security through our Education and Employment Services.

Speaking of donating, it’s time to GIVE WHERE YOU LIVE! ACO’s annual summertime campaign raises funds to provide support year-round for the hundreds of families we see every month. Please help us continue these vital programs by GIVING WHERE YOU LIVE- online or by mail.
We have some exciting news to announce concerning our household good donation drop off process. Thanks to our partnership with the City of Allen, we will begin accepting donations in July at the warehouse where all items are processed and priced before going to our resale stores. What does this mean? More and convenient parking for our customers, clients and employees as well as a safer environment on our property with less parking on the street!

Beginning July 1, household donations will be taken at 2 Butler Circle location, which is behind Allen City Hall and the Allen Police Department. See the map below…

Have a safe and happy summer. And, help ACO provide the same for local families facing hardships. Working together with you, hand in hand, we make our community a better place to thrive!

Many thanks!
