A Message from Monty- November 2018

Happy November!

             The month of Thanksgiving reminds us of the need to be grateful for the blessings in our lives. And personally, I have so much for which to be thankful. I am thankful for the incredible generosity of our community. This time of year can be very difficult for our neighbors who are in need, but our community rises to the occasion time and time again to help meet those needs.  Our Game Night event on November 10 demonstrated that generosity as we raised needed funds to work toward our mission. Schools, companies, and other organizations all over the community have held food drives for our Food Pantry and for our special Holiday Food Distributions. Individuals, families, and groups are buying new clothing and shoes to give to children through our Holiday Gift Program. Volunteers are giving their time in support. It is so rewarding to see the entire community coming together in so many ways to serve our neighbors!

             I am also thankful for the ability to work for an organization like ACO. I am thankful for each dedicated employee who makes sacrifices to work in such an important field. I am thankful for a Board of Directors that has the unwavering vision to fight the causes and effects of poverty. And I am thankful that I am able to join in this effort every day to help change lives for the better.

               Finally, I am thankful for YOU! Your support of ACO is invaluable. There is much work to do, but with your help, we can accomplish great things.
