Helping Feed Families Through the Season
Thanks to the support from our caring community members, including: students, teachers and parents, PTA groups, civic groups, businesses, and neighborhoods for coordinating food drives to collect holiday food items as well as food needed all year round. In the last few days, 145 caring volunteers came together to sort and bag more than 1,200 Thanksgiving and Christmas bags of food to distribute to families in need in Allen and in Branch for Thanksgiving and the end of year holiday celebrations. That is an amazing community effort and ACO is super grateful!!!

We are still collecting $15 grocery store gift cards, which help families purchase a protein and/or perishable items for the holiday meals. Gift cards can be delivered to our ACO office – MON-FRI 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
In addition to food items, personal hygiene products and household cleaning supplies (small containers are preferred – and some of the Dollar Stores have them) are needed all year round to help an average of 600 families every month. Here is a list of needed items.
