Did you know?

Allen Community Outreach resale stores are great places to find bargains.  The stores also serve people in need and serve as a limited recycle center.

When you donate items to Allen Community Outreach, they are first sorted. Items in good shape are sent to the Resale Store on Main Street; usable items that show wear are sent to the Treasure Chest; and outstanding donations, such as upscale new and gently used items and antiques, go to the Boutique.

ACO clients who are in need of household items and/or clothing and shoes for themselves and their children receive gift cards to buy goods in the Resale Store. Many of the items you donate directly help our neighbors in need.

And what about the stuff that, frankly, you weren’t sure whether or not to donate? Such as stained or torn clothing? Well, we recycle textiles and small electronics!  So, if you have clothing, bedding, table linens or shoes that you realize can’t be used because of wear and tear or stains, go ahead and donate them.  We pack them up and sell them to a recycling center. We also do electronic recycling, so we accept those non-working small appliances as well, including: mixers, blenders, flat screen monitors or up to 9-year-old TVs, printers, and etc.  The recycling programs allow you to clear out non-usable items while benefiting ACO, our clients and the environment.

One hundred percent of the net proceeds from our store and recycle sales support programs and services to help individuals and families in need served by Allen Community Outreach. Thank you for your donations!
