Receiver:

Classification:                         Non-Exempt, Part–time

Hours:                                     20 – 30 hrs. per week

The Receiver is responsible for accepting and handling donations in a responsible and efficient manner. This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying furniture, appliances, and totes of donations. It requires excellent customer contact skills.

Responsibilities:

• Receive donations in a friendly and courteous manner
• Provide receipts to donors
• Maintains product by identifying, labeling and placing materials in proper locations
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, crating, wrapping, loading and securing product
• Load and unload trucks safely by using the proper equipment
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and guidelines presented in the Allen Community Outreach Handbook

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must be able to read and write legibly
  • Ability to lift 35-50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and climb
  • Must have a friendly, courteous attitude
  • Must be able to work Saturdays

Pricer:

Classification:                         Non-Exempt, Part–time

Hours:                                     20 – 30 hrs. per week

The Pricer is responsible for determining the quality and price of donated items on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

• Price items accurately for resale locations
• Use quality and pricing guidelines to determine item value
• Research unique items to determine value
• Price and clean product before shipment
• Build product pallets and carts with bulk product and priced items in preparation for shipment
• Work in conjunction with sorting team to process donated product
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications:

• No Experience necessary
• Ability to be flexible with varying workflow
• Must be able to read and write legibly
• Ability to lift 35-50 lbs. frequently
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work in varying temperatures
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat and twist

Cashier Resale Shop:

Classification:                         Non-Exempt, Part–time

Hours:                                     20 – 30 hrs. per week

The Cashier is responsible for providing exemplary service to customers while maintaining a unique shopping experience for all who come to ACO.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers during checkout in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Greet customers upon entry to the store and thank the customer when exiting the store
  • Assist in the visual presentation of the store as directed, including moving furniture, arranging window displays, stocking shelving units with product and cleaning work station and other areas as needed
  • Assist customers regarding sales floor inquiries
  • Count cash drawers at end of shift
  • Oversees every customer has an exceptional experience while visiting the Resale Shop
  • Other duties assigned by management team
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and guidelines presented in the Allen Community Outreach Handbook

Qualifications:

  • Must have proficient math skills
  • Must have clean background
  • Must be able to read and write legibly
  • Must be proficient in customer relations
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
