Volunteer Letter

At ACO, our mission is to help our neighbors to prevent hunger and homelessness while working toward financial stability. We are deeply committed to empowering families to achieve financial stability through the programs we offer.

A vital aspect of our work is the invaluable support we receive from volunteers. Volunteers play a crucial role in all areas of our organization.

We are currently seeking adult volunteers in all our locations:

Training is provided for all positions.

We have shifts available Monday – Saturday from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Food Pantry: Volunteers sort and stock food as well as assist clients with shopping. Shifts are Monday – Friday.

Resale and Donation Center: Volunteers help sort and stock donations. Shifts are Monday – Saturday.

Cares Center: This store is open only to our clients, here they can shop for household essentials, like cleaning supplies, clothing, etc. Volunteers are needed to sort and stock donations. As well as assisting with the check-out process. Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Client Services Front Desk: Answering phones and greeting clients as they arrive for appointments. General knowledge of computers is required. Shifts are Monday – Friday.

The first step to volunteer is to fill out an application on our website acocares.org/volunteer – After submitting the application, you will receive an email with an invitation from Sterling Volunteers to complete a background check. The background check is required for volunteers 18 and over. This is done by a third party and costs $18. After submitting your background check, in 3-5 days you will receive an email from our volunteer coordinator, Colleen Johnson, with more information.

If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Colleen at cjohnson@acocares.org.

Please consider joining us, together we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors in need.
