Your donations are helping local families prevent hunger and homelessness.

  • The Donation Processing Center sorts donations and delivers to the ACO Cares Center to stock with clothing and household items that families can select for their needs.
  • Other items stock our Resale Store and Boutique, and sales from those items benefit programs such as ACO’s Employment Center for training to find gainful jobs, GED and Higher Education Programs, provide rent and utilities for those families in danger of losing their homes, and food to ensure that no child faced hunger in Collin County.
  • Finally, anything that can’t be used or sold is recycled. ACO has many partners in the reclaim and recycle processes so that we eliminate the need to unnecessarily add to the landfills and that we are good stewards of all donations.

Our most requested and needed items include:

  • Women’s Clothing and Shoes
  • Electronics (no televisions, please)
  • Children’s Clothing and Baby Items
  • New items such as Laundry Detergent and Cleaning Supplies, Paper Towels and Toilet Tissue.

Items we do NOT accept in our donation center can be found here.

  • ACO assists hundreds of families each month to provide financial assistance, education and employment services, transportation and medical assistance, financial literacy classes and wellness seminars.
  • Each summer and special food drive is held to provide fun and healthy foods for children while they are home on the school break and away from the reduced breakfast and lunch provisions.
  • In the Fall, FILL THE BUS program collects new school supplies and backpacks for hundreds of students to start the new year prepared with the supplies they need.
  • Holiday season is a very busy time to provide specially packed foods for traditional holiday dinners for local families, and to collect and distribute toys to thousands of local children.
  • 2023 will be a big year for ACO, so watch for updates mid-year as we expand to a MEGA Resale Store at Greenville and McDermott, and move our Donation Center to the same location.
